Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy
Here we explain:
- How the Schools 48 Hour Film Challenge and 48 Hour Media Ltd collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you participate in the Challenge.
- The terms and conditions of participating in the challenge
- The mandatory film release and consent form.
Information We Collect:
Basic Information: Name, email address, phone number (optional), school affiliation (if applicable).
Team Information: Team name, team members' names and key stage.
Film Submission Information: Film title, brief synopsis, release forms for any identifiable individuals in the film.
Event Participation Information: Registration date, attendance at workshops or screenings (optional).
Class for Kids registration: Is an external agency, who are bound by their privacy policy and only supply booking details to the Schools 48 Hour Film Challenge.
How We Use Your Information:
- To administer the Challenge: We use your information to communicate with you about the Challenge, including registration confirmation, rule updates, screening schedule, and award announcements.
- To manage teams: We use team information to facilitate collaboration and ensure fair competition.
- To evaluate film submissions: We use film information and release forms to verify eligibility and copyright compliance.
- To promote the Challenge: We may use your child's first and team name (with your consent) in announcements, awards publications, and promotional materials.
- To analyse participation: We may use anonymised data to understand participation trends and improve future Challenges.
Information We Share:
- Publicly: Team names, and film title may be publicly displayed during screenings and award ceremonies. Release forms are mandatory for any identifiable individuals in the film.
- With Service Providers: We may share your information with partners IntoFilm.org who assist us with running the Challenge.
- As Required by Law: We may disclose your information if required by law or to comply with legal process.
Data Retention:
We will retain your information for a reasonable period of time after the Challenge, considering factors such as legal requirements and ongoing promotional activities. After this period, your information will be securely deleted
Your Choices:
• You can choose not to provide certain information. However, this may limit your ability to participate in the Challenge.
• You can request access to your information, request its correction or deletion, or withdraw your consent for its use.
Participation
- Every child participating MUST be registered on the Class For Kids site to part of the challenge.
- Parents and children MUST read and understand the rules of the challenge, ie no surnames are to be used, no copyright music or pre-recorded professional film and a declaration of the use of any Artificial Intelligence must be made.
- Challengers can be from a mixture of schools and a range of ages, the average age should be used when selecting the key stage category. Please ask for assistance if unsure.
- Every team MUST have an adult Team Leader, aka a supervisor for safeguarding and health and safety reasons. Please refer to the Team Leader guide.
I understand that the film my child produces may be:
- Shown at the Schools' 48 Hour Film Challenge Celebration Event.
- Uploaded to the Schools' 48 Hour Film Challenge website via an unlisted upload on YouTube. An unlisted YouTube video is a video that can only be viewed by people who have a link to it. Unlisted videos are not public and don't appear in search results, but they can be shared.
- Used for promotional purposes by the Schools' 48 Hour Film Challenge organisers.
- Photographic consent on this platform, will also cover photographs and films taken during the challenge and celebration event, which may be used for promotional purposes.
I understand that my child's surname will not be used in any promotional materials or social media posts without my further consent.
